I cast on for these mitts on New Year's Eve at the Motel 6 in Beatty, Nevada. I made the pattern up as I went along. Been pretty busy so I have just finished them. I have made fancy lacy alpaca Delicato mitts before, but they are reserved for chilly days at the office. I wanted some hard-wearing no-nonsense wool ones for field trips with the camera. These are made from 1.4oz of handspun, hand-dyed grey coopworth wool.

So is this the infamous "fulled" coopworth yarn? Turned out pretty good!!
Love the way you got the picture of both of them LOL
You need to teach Clara how to take pictures!
Very nice, I need to learn how to make the thumb on the ones that I do, I got docked for that at fair this last year...
Your mitts look great and they also look like they fit your hand well. I'm hoping that we can together dissect the pattern for the mitts that Sylvia knit for me. I wear them everyday and she keeps saying that one day she'll sit down and figure out the pattern so she can write it down. She just made a major move so I know it's not going to happen soon. The mitt fits like a glove, pun intended. I can get it up to the thumb, but then I'm lost.
Those are the perfect, "fancy, yet functional" mitts I need to whip up for myself. I have one pair that eventually became 'barn mitts' and another that are strictly fancy and need some regular ones! Great colors. I know that motel...
